Al-Madinah Community Center, CAIR-Ohio & CAIR-Michigan, welcome you to a special youth leadership event: “Step Up! & Take the Lead: Muslim Youth Activism for a Better Tomorrow" on Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The goal of this event is to help develop the dynamic leadership skills our youth need to succeed in today’s world. Through lectures and workshops by well-known Muslim activists such as CAIR-FL Executive Director Hassan Shibly, Esq., Community Activist Linda Sarsour, Author of a "Muslim's Guide to American Politics and Government," Raeed Tayeh, CAIR-MI Staff Attorney Lena Masri, Esq., and CAIR-MI Executive Director Dawud Walid and others, participants will find the inspiration, motivation, and the means to Step Up and Take the Lead!
Participants will be empowered to become more active in their communities, to challenge Islamophobia, to engage the media, and to gain the self-confidence to uphold their Islamic identity in today’s society. It is vital that the community’s youth realize their potential as future leaders, activists, and individuals who can and will make a difference not just in their respective communities, but worldwide. A collaborative effort of the Al-Madinah Community Center and CAIR, this special event is designed to be engaging to today’s young Muslims.
