Sharif Gindy is an engineer. Dr. Gindy obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University year 1986
He is the President of SensorData Technologies, a corporation based in Shelby Twp, Michigan.
Dr. Gindy is a co-founder and board member of CAIR Michigan. He co-founded the Islamic Association of Greater Detroit, Camp Al-Hilal, the Council on Islamic Organizations of Michigan, Illahi Investment Company, the first Sharia compliant institution helping Detroit residents purchase homes without interest, American Society for Religious and Cultural Understanding, an educational non-profit organization which brought the renowned television program Islam to Detroit’s Channel 62 in the 1980’s, and the annual Unity Dinner and Dawa in correctional institutions.
Dr. Gindy is a former Board of Trustee and serves as the Executive Board Officer for the Islamic Association of Greater Detroit, the Islamic Cultural Institute, and the American Society for Religious and Cultural Understanding.
