Dr. Muzammil Ahmed has been on the board for CAIR Michigan since 2004.
He completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He completed his residency training in urological surgery at the University of Michigan Hospitals. He is the Vice Chief of Medicine at Oakwood Hospital Wayne and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology at Wayne State University.
Dr. Ahmed is a co-founder and Board Member of the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding, a non-profit research think tank studying American Muslims. He is the Chairman of the Michigan Muslim Community Council and on the Board of Trustees for the University of Michigan Muslim Students Association.
He served as an officer on the Executive Board for the Muslim Community of Western Suburbs (Canton Masjid), Boy Scout Akela and an editorial page editor at the Michigan Daily in Ann Arbor. At CAIR, he organized the Presenting Islam to Fellow Americans workshops.
Dr. Ahmed has lived in Michigan for over 30 years. He is married to Dr. Asra Ahmed, who has put up with him for over 20 years and provided him with four interesting children.
He is an unindicted co-conspirator in trying to make America a better place for all.
