In a statement, CAIR-Michigan Executive Director Dawud Walid said:
“We condemn this heinous and cowardly attack on a house of worship, offer heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of all those who were killed or injured and to the Jewish community during this time of shock and grief. Anti-Jewish hatred and racial animus shown to people of color by white supremacists needs to be more vigorously challenged by all socio-political leaders in our country irrespective of political affiliations.”
